The 30th Anniversary Diamond Gala, "Treasures of Westchester" was held at The Performing Arts Center on Saturday, September 29th. Over 325 guests attended the evening which began with cocktails in the upper lobby of The Center, followed by dinner in the "Black Box" theatre; Performances by Joshua Bell and Ann Hampton Callaway, and a champagne reception after the performances.
A last minute cancellation by Itzhak Perlman on Friday afternoon was not going to upset plans for the event. In a few short hours the highly regarded Joshua Bell stepped in for Perlman. Everyone was delighted with his performance which was stellar. After the performances, Bell and Ms. Callaway very graciously joined the champagne reception.
The combination of ticket sales, donations, silent auction and Diamond Raffle, enabled the gala to raise over $260,000.00. Proceeds from the raffle of $6,500.00 were earmarked for the Arts in Education Department headed by Rosalie Sauerhaft.
