Each year, The Center attracts more than 125,000 people attending over 600 events. It presents professional series of music, dance and theatre performances and many special events. The conservatory and academic divisions of Purchase College use the facility, as do many of the area's major arts organizations. In addition, corporations, production companies, film companies, record companies, community groups and charities frequently rent the theatres and auxiliary spaces.

THE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER HAS BEEN THE VENUE FOR THE FOLLOWING ACTIVITIES:
Benefits Non-profit organizations, including the American Cancer Society, UJA/Federation and United Cerebral Palsy, have used The Center for fundraising events. Marvin Hamlisch, Chita Rivera, Sherrill Milnes, Harry Belafonte, Bill Cosby, Bobby Short, Michael Feinstein and Neil Sedaka are a few of the artists who have appeared in benefit concerts.
Performances are often preceded or followed by a formal dinner or cocktail reception in the lobbies.
Corporate Meetings Major corporations have held world satellite conferences, stock-holders meetings, large employee meetings, promotional kickoffs, trade shows and private parties in the complex. Citibank, General Foods, IBM, NYNEX and the Bank of New York use the facility often.
Recording Sessions The theatres' fine acoustics have attracted Deutsche Grammophon, SONY Classical, Philips Classics, Telarc International, BMG Records, Music Masters, Decca International, Arabesque Records and ECM Records. The New York Philharmonic, the Orchestra of St. Lukes, YoYo Ma, Isaac Stern, Itzhak Perlman, Jessye Norman, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, Garrick Ohlsson, Keith Jarret, PDQ Bach and Dave Brubeck have all recorded at The Center.
Film/Television/Commercials/Industrials Major entertainment companies have worked in the complex. The New York City Ballet's film The Nutcracker and scenes from Bob Fosse's All That Jazz were filmed at The Center. Michael Krauss Productions filmed a prime-time ABC television special. Gomes Lowe and Tower lntemational have used the theatres to shoot television commercials. PepsiCo, Mannington Mills and Technicon have used the facility to shoot industrial films.
Pre-Broadway, Theatre Workshops, Residencies Several Tony Award-winning productions were rehearsed and previewed at The Center before going to Broadway. These include Hal Prince's The Kiss of the Spider Woman and Jerome Robbins' Broadway. Penn & Teller's Refrigerator Tour, Annie Get Your Gun, The Classic Stage Company, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, The Joffrey Ballet, The Paul Taylor Company and the Limon Dance Company have all been in residence at The Center prior to New York City appearances.
Production House Major producing organizations have built touring packages for Phantom of the Opera, Sarafina and Crazy for You on the stages and in The Center's production shops.
