The PAC News & Notes

(September 2021) We know that you are anxiously awaiting news about our plans. When will The PAC reopen? When will you, our audiences, be back? The Shuttered Venue Operators Grant award we received last month has opened up some interesting possibilities, taking the edge off of the financial constraints we’ve experienced, and so we’ve chosen to pause public programming for the fall to complete some of the theater projects we’ve been wanting to do for a long time. (August 2021) The PAC has been awarded a Shuttered Venue Operators Grant of $1,062,742.41. This grant program is designed to help arts venues recoup losses incurred during pandemic-related closures. The effects of this transformative award will be long-lasting and will help us reopen our theatres and bring world-class performing arts back to Purchase. Click to read the full press release.

Tracy Fitzpatrick, Director of the Neuberger Museum of Art, has assumed the role of Interim Managing Director of The PAC, effective March 2021. With 17 years of experience at Purchase, Fitzpatrick is working directly with PAC Department heads and help the College oversee The PAC until new, permanent leadership is appointed. Fitzpatrick also continues as Director of the Neuberger Museum. Christy Havard, who acted as The PAC’s Interm Managing Director in early 2021, has returned to her role as Director of Production for The PAC. Read Tracy Fitzpatrick’s bio.

For over forty years, THE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, PURCHASE COLLEGE (The PAC), a four-theatre complex located on the campus of Purchase College, has been the major professional, non-profit arts presenter in the Southeastern New York–Southwestern Connecticut region. While The PAC has been closed to the public since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, The PAC continues to operate as a safe learning space for Purchase College students and a resource for educators while presenting a broad range of virtual programming for the community that inspires, engages, and sparks critical conversations.
