The PAC News & Notes

Angélique Kidjo is considered to be one of the greatest artists in international music today. As a performer, her striking voice, stage presence and fluency in multiple cultures and languages have won respect from her peers and expanded her following across national borders. Kidjo has cross-pollinated the West African traditions of her childhood in Benin with elements of American R&B, funk and jazz, as well as influences from Europe and Latin America.

In early 2023, The Purchase PAC will present a series of three dance performances by professional dance companies. The 2023 Dance Series includes performances by Complexions Contemporary Ballet on February 4, Paul Taylor Dance Company on February 25, and Gibney Company on March 11.

(December 16, 2022) On Sunday, January 22, 2023 at 3pm, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and acclaimed violinist Renaud Capuçon will perform a program titled Change the Frame in the Recital Hall at The Performing Arts Center, Purchase College.

(June 24, 2022) We are thrilled to announce that we will welcome audiences back into our theatres to experience live, world-class performing arts starting in October of 2022. True to our legacy of sharing new work alongside established virtuosity, the 2022-2023 Re-Opening Season will activate old artistic partnerships and build new friendships. Tickets will go on sale Tuesday, September 6.

(March 24, 2022) The Performing Arts Center, Purchase College (The PAC) has been awarded a ReStart the Arts Grant of $25,000. The grant will support fall 2022 performances by the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center at The PAC, which will be supplemented by pre-concert Q&As and a master class for Purchase College Conservatory of Music students. ReStart the Arts is a regrant program of ArtsWestchester, made possible with support from the Office of the Governor, the New York State Legislature, and the New York State Council on the Arts. The program includes $1 million in grants to local arts organizations so that they may rehire artists, reassemble audiences, and reignite creativity. Read the full press release here.
