The Performing Arts Center, Purchase College seeks a Director of Production to oversee all aspects of production for The Performing Arts Center’s four performance venues.
KEY RESPONSILIBILITES
- Supervision of technical preparation of all stage operations for The Performing Arts Center, Purchase College
- Oversee production staff and maintain stages and related production areas
- Ensure that all stage operations comply with pertinent safety and security procedures.
- Participate in The Performing Arts Center’s budgeting process by providing necessary production budgetary information and proposals to General Manager and organizational staff.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree and/or demonstrated professional experience in technical theatre, performing arts, or event management.
- 10 years of experience in live theater production or clear progressive experience as a production manager, operations director, or similar role in a performing arts, theatrical, or producing venue.
- 5 years of supervisory experience related to production.
- Working knowledge of technical rider advance preparation.
- Ability to read and interpret professional technical riders, drawings, plots, and related documents.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing production and/or departmental budget.
- Knowledge of the functions of technical equipment; lighting, audio, rigging, stagecraft, as well as maintenance and repair of same equipment.
- Well-versed in safety precautions and procedures for theatre spaces. Understanding industry safety OSHA standards as they apply to performance facilities.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, nights, and weekends on a regular basis.
- Must be able to withstand long hours of concentrated physical activity.
- Must be able to work in catwalks, on grids, and on ladders.

Lighting Supervisor

The Performing Arts Center, Purchase College seeks a Lighting Supervisor to support the technical and production needs of an evolving performing arts hub. The Lighting Supervisor will oversee all aspects of theatrical lighting for The Performing Arts Center’s four performance venues. This position reports to The PAC’s Director of Production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage preparation and execution of lighting and related tasks for events at the Performing Arts Center in collaboration and coordination with other Production staff, Center crew, visiting companies, academic units, students, and others as necessary.
- Prepare and manage all lighting documentation and production-related paperwork as needed to facilitate productions including, but not limited to, lighting plots, instrument, and linesets schedules, etc. for events and standard default house configurations.
- Act as Lighting Designer and/or Master Electrician for events as assigned by the Director of Production
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment.
- Maintain the lighting and related inventory as needed and document the condition, usage, and availability of equipment, including installed systems.
- Communicate to the Director of Production, and others as relevant, the condition and status of events, projects, and equipment.
- Work in conjunction with other staff and vendors to plan costs, and expenses in order to prepare and update budgets as well as to prepare for events and maintenance/improvement projects.

Education & Engagement Intern
The Performing Arts Center at Purchase College is seeking an Education & Engagement Intern for the upcoming fall 2020 semester. This opportunity is for students interested in acquiring hands-on experience in managing artists within a professional performing arts environment.
The role of the Education & Engagement Intern is to gain hands-on experience and knowledge of the day-to-day functions of Education and Engagement at The PAC, and collaborate with the Artist Services staff at The Performing Arts Center to ensure smooth delivery of the community engagement and artist partnerships within the program. The ideal candidate will have an advanced understanding of and experience with not-for-profit performing arts. For the duration of this internship, the Education & Engagement Intern will play an important role in Company Management logistics, and in PAC Community Engagement events on campus.
We are looking for reliable candidates with excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, the ability to work independently, and a strong interest in the performing arts.
The Education & Engagement Intern will assist in hosting performing artists and companies featured in the PAC’s regular season and School Time and Community Engagement programming. This will include assisting with the planning, preparation and/or execution of:
- community engagement activities such as master classes, presentations, and lectures
- performance day activities
- artist rehearsal needs
- hospitality/ catering logistics and set-ups
- artist transportation/chaperoning

Marketing & Social Media Intern
The Marketing & Social Media Intern reports to the Director of Marketing. This is a part-time internship, with an option to work 5 or 7.5 hours per week. We are currently seeking an intern for FALL 2022.
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Making updates to PAC website content
- Flagging content for use on The PAC’s social media platforms
- Monitoring and logging key social media metrics
- Assembling e-blasts and BEMs
- Research and other projects as assigned
Skills required:
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A strong interest in the performing arts
- Some familiarity with HTML and graphic design software a plus (Photoshop, InDesign)
- MUST be self-motivated and able to work independently
