As we come to the end of 2021, I’m sure we’ll all agree that it was a year with many challenges. But among the frustrations of the last twelve months are many wonderful memories that remind me that The PAC is the heart of an extraordinarily creative community. As we look to the New Year, it’s these memories, and these relationships, that stay with me and bring me joy — and hope for the future.

I’m reminded, for instance, of the inspiration of artistic creation in our Virtual Dance Series, often featuring work developed during the period of isolation in the COVID lockdown; or the power of our online webinars and conversations that spoke so eloquently to the essential connection between performance and social responsibility; or the excitement of seeing young artists of the future honing their craft on our stages – both during semesters but also over the summer with the likes of the National Youth Orchestra; or perhaps most importantly during this time of need – our shared pride in the dedication of The PAC staff who worked so hard through the year to keep our spaces artistically active even though our public performance series is quiet.

Above all else though, my pride in The PAC as a home for creative friendships and artistic relationships is best exemplified by YOUR continued support and engagement with our work. Your friendship, your participation, and your artistic curiosity are a continuing inspiration to us and the energy for our future performances. Thank you!

Have a wonderful holiday and a safe, creative, and artistic New Year. We’ll see you in 2022!
