J.S. Bach’s The Art of Fugue by Circa

Dive into an extraordinary multi-artform experience where the meticulous intellect of Johann Sebastian Bach’s The Art of Fugue meets the breath-taking physicality of contemporary acrobatics.

This work is a celebration of human potential, pushing the limits of both mind and body. The complex structure and intellectual depth of Bach’s The Art of Fugue is brought to life by Pianist Vitaly Starikov (2025 Van Cliburn International Piano Competition Silver Medalist), while Circa’s ensemble, led by Artistic Director Yaron Lifschitz, respond with dynamic choreography that defies gravity and captivates the senses.

Join us as we explore the boundless possibilities of artistic creation.

Run time: 85 minutes plus intermission

Created by Yaron Lifschitz with the Circa Ensemble based on the original production created with the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra and its Artistic Director, Paul Dyer.

Commissioned by the Moss Arts Center, Virginia Tech and the University of Georgia Performing Arts Center. Circa acknowledges the assistance of the Australian Government through Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body and the Queensland Government through Arts Queensland.
