Songs of the Spirit: A Concert for Peace

Songs of the Spirit: A Concert for Peace is an invitation to come together to ring in the season of light with a joyous community celebration of unity through global music, dance, and spoken word.

This festive party with a holiday vibe will feature a roster of extraordinary artists from around the world who will share the stage with SUNY Purchase conservatory students in dance, acting, and music, and our very own Purchase Symphony Orchestra.

Headlining are the Living Legends of New Orleans, led by Cyril Neville of the Neville Brothers, founding member of the Meters George Porter, Jr., multidisciplinary performing artist Raymond Webbers, and Flagboy Giz of the Wild Tchoupitoulas Black Masking Indians.

Also joining the celebration will be the Queen of Haitian Salsa Emeline Michel, founding member of the Klezmatics Frank London, award winning Iraqi composer Amir ElSaffar, psychedelic Sufi singer Haleh Liza Gafori, renowned Harlem based trombonist and composer Craig Harris, all led by Musical Director John “Papa” Gros, a New Orleans legend in his own right.

Proceeds from ticket sales will support the conservatory programs at SUNY Purchase.

Songs of the Spirit Holiday Village & Craft Fair
The Purchase PAC will be transformed into a traditional holiday village, featuring craft vendors, music, food, drink, and other surprises. Open Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6.
