It Gets Better Live blends music, theatre, and multimedia into a powerful work for the stage. This moving musical theater performance – equal parts wit, whimsy, empowerment, and inspiration – features real stories from gay, lesbian, transgender, and straight allies from around the country. The cast will be joined by members of The LOFT’s Pride Chorus and individual singers from the Purchase College community.

Post-Show
Please join us in the theatre after the show for a Q&A with It Gets Better touring company.

Since its inception in 2011, It Gets Better has been an ever-evolving work, bringing the experience and message of the online It Gets Better Project to communities throughout the country. Now, “cycle three” is responding to both troubling and hopeful changes in the American conversation about LGBTQ++ people and issues. A week of workshops, conversations, and educational outreach culminates with the live musical theater performance.

It Gets Better Live is produced by the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus in collaboration with the It Gets Better Project and Speak Theater Arts.

Presented at Purchase with support from community partners THE LOFT LGBT Community Center, Center Lane LGBQT+ Youth Center, Rockland County Pride Center and GLSEN Hudson Valley, and campus partners LGBTQU and QPOC.
