“…triple-threat performers who dance, sing and act with a sometimes searing sense of truthfulness.” –The New York Times

Urban Bush Women commemorates its 40th Anniversary with Legacy + Lineage + Liberation celebrating the power of Women(+). This dynamic evening features iconic works by UBW Founder Jawole Willa Jo Zollar and a brand new work by Co-Artistic Directors Chanon Judson and Mame Diarra Speis. Each of these works transcend genres and amplify the voices of Women(+) of color, resonating in this time of reflection around equity and justice, and lifting up the Black experience. Witness UBW’s great sense of musicality, reflection inside of empathy and joy — a gracious invitation to respond to what you are experiencing and to leave the theater energized and inspired.
